2016 is here and the internet as usually is changing rapidly and with the growth and evolution of the internet it has sprouted some great opportunities that is making it easier to earn a living using the internet.
In the next few posts I am going to share with you some of these opportunities and share some strategies to help you get started immediately and start making some money quickly. Throughout these posts you will see case studies, be given resources and tools and you will be given action tasks to complete.
Make sure to follow alone and complete each action task at the end of each post and take action. If you follow alone and take action by the end of these lessons you will be making your first money online and have a plan to scale up to a full time income working part time using the internet. If that is something you would like to learn then in the words or Kramer, let’s…
In this first lesson I want to share with you a strategy that can get you up and running in a very short period of time, within the next 24 hours if you act fast and possibly even making sales in that time too.
The strategy is about leveraging the worlds and most dominate ‘marketplace’ websites.
These website attract all the buyers with credit cards in hand, they have spent lots of time and money building up their credibility and trust within the marketplace and they provide you with all the tools you need to start selling stuff instantly.
What do I mean by ‘marketplace’ websites?
These are the websites that act as a hub or community where people come to buy and sell.
The types of websites I’m referring to are:
- Amazon (Kindle, Merch, CreateSpace, etc)
These are just some of the big ‘marketplace’ websites out there, there are plenty more.
Here are some examples of how you can use these websites to set up shop and start selling quickly.
The first website we will look at is Amazon Merch (https://merch.amazon.com/) this is a print on demand t-shirt service Amazon.com recently launched. They allow you to upload your own designs and then Amazon will print, sell, ship and do all the customer service for you and pay you a royalty of the purchase price which you get to set.
Amazon have made to really easy to upload your images and design your shirts. Once you upload your image you can then choose which fabric and style of t-shirt you want your design on and what colors you want to make it available in.
Once Amazon has approved your design it is available for sale on Amazon.com – the World’s Largest Online Retail Store. And just like that you are in business selling your own custom design t-shirts, pretty cool right.
Now if you are a programmer and like building games or want to learn then Amazon Merch gets even better for you. Amazon allow you to promote your t-shirts inside your games on Amazon. Now you could be partnering with Amazon getting paid to develop video games and sell t-shirts. Boom!
When Amazon first launched Amazon Merch it was open to anyone and I was lucky enough to get in during that time so no hurdles to jump though. At the time of me writing this Amazon Merch has a ‘Request Invitation’ button, so I am unsure what the process involved, but there is only one way to find out 😉
Now before you use the excuse and say to yourself “I can’t draw or design anything” don’t worry I am the same. So what I did was go to Fiverr.com another great ‘marketplace’ website and spent $5 to get an original design, I then sold that t-shirt for $17.99 and made a royalty of $7.19 making a profit of $2.19 on my first sale.
This is an important lesson…
While thinking about how you can leverage the big ‘marketplace’ websites get creative and look for opportunities where you can use the sites to do simple arbitrage, buying low from one site and selling higher on another and making a profit in the middle.
Some other ‘marketplace’ websites where you can upload your designs and sell custom clothing and apparel are: Zazzle.com, Teespring.com, Cafepress.com.au. They are worth exploring, it doesn’t take long to upload your designs and then your products are instantly available in the marketplace for sale.
I want to share with you is a method anyone can do, it is about leveraging EBay.com which is one of the most visitored websites in the world and most people are going there with credit card in hand ready to buy something, so let’s give them something to buy.
There is a lot of content readily available in the Public Domain waiting for you to use and that is what we are going to sell, so don’t worry if you are thinking you don’t have anything to sell, here is plenty and it is available for free.
In case you don’t know what the Public Domain content is, according to Wikipedia it is:
“Works in the public domain are those whose intellectual property rights have expired, have been forfeited, or are inapplicable.” – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain
In the public domain you will find everything from images, audio books, ebooks, articles, speeches and any other form of content or intellectual property.
One method of doing this is to use a service like www.kunaki.com here you can upload your content, let’s say an audio book or a speech that you find in the Public Domain and they will then print the CD or DVD on demand usually for about a $1.
Once you have your content uploaded you can then create a listing on EBay selling the CD or DVD, let’s say for $8 plus the cost of shipping (or whatever price you like). For the few minutes it took you to upload your content to kunaki.com and create the listing on Ebay you now have a product in the market place that makes sales for you without you doing anything and make you a nice little profit.
Now this method won’t make you a lot of money with only one product, however because of the minimal effort required you could easily set up dozens of them, even hundreds of them. You could even hire someone on upwork.com to do the work for you.
These are just a couple example of how you can leverage some of the biggest ‘marketplace’ websites. They are a great place to start and they will only become more important as the internet grows and evolves.
If you are a writer or blogger then I highly recommend publishing your work on Amazon Kindle and CreateSpace. They make it super easy to upload your work and get it into the global market place and become a professional author.
If you have certain skills then you might want to offer them for service on Upwork.com one of the biggest online marketplaces to get hired as a virtual worker.
By now I hope you have gotten some ideas for you to start taking action. These sites provide you with all the tools and resources you need to start selling your products or services, no need to have a website or learn any technical mumbo jumbo.
Here is what you need to do:
Step 1 – Create a free account at your choose marketplace website
Step 2 – upload your designs or create a job listing or write a short description of what you have to sell
Step 3 – Fulfill the orders and promote your stuff
Step 4 – Go take action and keep taking action until you have completed the task.
That is it for this lesson, we have covered quiet a lot and for some of you this will be enough. You might want to focus on being an author and start publishing books on Amazon Kindle and CreateSpace or start selling your designs on Zazzle.com or drop-shipping on EBay an Amazon.
