“I have no money to get started”
Recently I have been getting a lot of emails from people who want to make money online but they have no money to get started. In this post I am going to address this issue and show you how to solve it.
First before we get into the nuts and bolts of how to get the capital together so you can invest in your business, there is a much bigger issue that infects (yes infects, not affects) many people that we need to talk about.
Let me take you back in time for a moment…
Back to August 2005…
This is when I learned a very valuable lesson about money and it’s attainment that I want to share with you.
I remember the day, it was a Tuesday I was sitting across the table at a coffee shop with Paul Counsel, my mentor at the time.
I meet Paul though his brother who was doing business dealings with my Dad at the time. I heard that Paul was a self-made multi-millionaire who worked from home and specialized in passive income and I wanted to know what he knew.
So I reached out to him and before I knew it, we were meeting up once a week in a local coffee shop.
This particular Tuesday we were going over some mindset and goal setting stuff and as a young ambitious kid I blurted out that I wanted a Ferrari, but didn’t have the money for it.
Paul then turned to me a said… “The only reason you don’t have the money for it is because you haven’t decided to buy it yet. Once you really make the decision to buy it, you will find the money.”
To be honest I was a bit taken-back at the time and took it as a bit of a kick in the ass.
I had never thought about it like that before, but the more I pondered upon it and the more I was honest with myself the power and truth of the statement revealed itself.
Now, I understand some people are genuinely doing it tough and are having a hard time finding food for the family.
If you are in this situation and you don’t have much entrepreneurial spirit then forget about building an online business for now.
You first need to get some money to feed your family and relieve the stress. At the end of this post you can find some resources that may help you find some work and get some working capital to start your online business.
But, if you are not dumpster diving for food and you have a job or some form of income and you can afford to have a car, mobile phone, computer, internet, TV, take-out food, etc
You really have no excuse because it is not really a matter of not having the money, is it?
You have just decided to spend your money on other things.
I know the truth can hurt sometimes but the sooner you are honest with yourself the sooner you can correct course.
You see, it is rarely a lack of money that is the problem.
It is the lack of being resourceful and a lack in mindset and attitude.
Here’s an example, if you were really serious about building an online business, meaning you are prepared to work the long hours, be open to learning new skills and making mistakes until you succeed and back yourself, then the problem isn’t money.
Here is what I mean…
I have a system I am using and promoting which allows you to fully test and use it for $7 for 30 days.
That is the price of a drink at Starbucks or a couple of poisoned burgers from McDonalds.
During that 30 days you get access step-by-step training walking you though exactly how to make money online, they also give you a complete done-for-you money making machine and you also get your very own coach to help with the training and putting the money machine it into action.
They even guarantee you will get results or they will send you $100 cash for wasting your time. Now, if that is a no-brainer, totally risk-free opportunity, I don’t know what is.
Next you are going to need some money for advertising to make sales. No problem…
If you don’t want to focus on free traffic strategies because they are slow and require lots of hard work, plus you want to speed up your results, because after all, you only have 30 days before the trail ends on the marketing system.
One solution could be Facebook Ads, as they allow you to run ads before paying for them. In fact if you time it right you could get close to 30 days of free advertising from Facebook before they charge your bill and if you have it charge a credit card, most will give you 20 days or so interested free to pay the bill, buying you even more time.
You see, if you really want something bad enough you will find away.
You need to be honest with yourself and ask, why do you want to build an online business?
What will it give you that you don’t have now?
Are you really prepared to pay the price for that prize?
Can you let go of the story that you have been telling yourself why you can’t do, be or have what you desire?
After answering these questions, if you still want to build an online business and you have a burning desire why you need to, then it’s time to put away the excuses, pull up your big boys or girls socks and back yourself.
And start opening up and looking for the solutions. (They are all around you.)
Now talking about solutions, here are some resources to help you earn some extra money to help pay the bills, get start up capital, fund your advertising or maybe even replace your current income sources.
Share and share alike… (The Booming Share Economy)
In case you haven’t noticed there is a huge boom going on right now where people are being paid to rent out all kinds of things that they own. Most of us have heard of the big share-economy apps like AirBnb where you can rent out your spare room or house. Uber where you can be paid to taxi people around your local city and Ebay.com where you can sell you unwanted goods.
But there are also lots of other share-economy apps and opportunities that allow you to earn extra income in your own time, such as:
AirTasker – Get paid for doing jobs for other people in your local neighborhood.
JustPark – Which allows you to earn money renting out your parking space.
Vayable or ShowAround – Allows you to earn an income as a tour guide in your local city for people visiting your city who want some local knowledge.
DogVacay – Is like AirBnb for dog owners. You can earn income sitting other people’s dogs.
Spinlister – Is a marketplace for sports equipment rentals, like skis and snowboards, bikes, or surfboards. If you have any of these, you could earn money when you’re not using them.
Getaround – Puts your car to use for you when you’re not driving it, or allows you to rent a car from someone in the Getaround network.
This is just a handful of share-economy apps and services out there you can use to earn extra income from home, around your own hours.
If you have some computer skills such as data entry, programming skills, can write articles or blog posts, graphic designed, build websites, etc. Then why not do some freelance work using job sites like, Upworks.com, Freelancer.com, Rent-A-Coder.com, Fiverr.com.
